How to set home and blog pages in Divi Theme

By default, WordPress displays the recent posts on the home screen, but in most cases, you will need to have different content on the home page, also have your blog posts on a dedicated page, usually called the “blog” page.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to set home and blog pages in Divi Theme in every way possible.

There are two ways to set the home and the blog page; the WordPress way and the Divi way:

Method #1 using WordPress settings

This method works with any theme.

Set the home page:

1. Go to your admin dashboard -> Pages -> Add New.

Here you will create a new page; let’s call it Home. Keep the page empty and then publish it.

2. Next, go to Settings -> Reading -> Your homepage displays -> Select A static page (select below) -> Homepage. Select the page you just created.

3. Click the Save Changes button.

Now, when you visit your home page, you will get this new empty page. Anything you add to this page will be displayed on the home page.

You can use Gutenberg or Divi to build the home page.

Set the blog page

This is done the same way as the home page.

1. Go to your admin dashboard -> Pages -> Add New. This time name the page Blog.

2. Go to Settings -> Reading -> Your homepage displays -> Select A static page (select below) -> Posts page.

Select the page you have just created and save the changes.

You don’t need to add anything to the blog page. Instead, WordPress will display the recent posts from your website on this page automatically.

Method #2 using Divi’s theme builder

The theme builder of Divi theme is a powerful tool that allows you to design custom templates for the header, footer, home page, blog page, single posts, etc.

Set the home page

Let’s set the homepage using Divi theme builder

1. Go to your admin dashboard -> Divi -> Theme Builder -> Add New Template -> Select Homepage and click Create Template.

2. Click Add Custom Body -> Build Custom Body.

3. Divi Builder will open, and you can build the page as you like.

Set the blog page

Now, let’s create the blog template using the theme builder.

1. Go to your admin dashboard -> Divi -> Theme Builder -> Add New Template -> Select Blog and click Create Template.

2. Click Add Custom Body -> Build Custom Body.

3. Divi Builder will open, and you can build the page as you like.

A blog page must display the recent posts of the website, so you will need to add the blog module to this template.
